The Ouroboros

In Systems Thinking, the Ouroboros is the ultimate visual representation of a Feedback Loop. It signifies a system that is self-sustaining, self-consuming, and perpetually renewing.
From a mathematical and systemic perspective, the Ouroboros represents a state of "Steady State" equilibrium.

The Circular Economy: In environmental science, the Ouroboros is the goal: a system where waste (the tail) becomes the food (the head) for the next cycle. This is the only way to defeat Entropy in a closed system.

Autopoiesis: This is the Greek term for "self-creation." Biological cells are "Ouroboric" in nature; they produce the very components that maintain their own existence.

Zero-Sum vs. Infinite: While it looks like a "zero-sum" game (consumption), the Ouroboros actually represents the Law of Conservation of Energy: nothing is truly lost, only transformed.
Researcher Note:
The "Death and Rebirth" Cycle: To the alchemist, the Ouroboros represented the process of Solve et Coagula. You must "consume" your old Persona to provide the energy needed to grow your new self. This is the Tipping Point where destruction becomes creation.
